After registering your pool or spa, the relevant council is required to send you written notification confirming:
For pools and spas constructed on or after 1 November 2020, a certificate of barrier compliance is due within 30 days of the occupancy permit or certificate of final inspection. The next certificate of compliance is due four years after registration.
Victorian pool and spa owners had until 1st of November 2020 to register their pool or spa with their local council. The council may charge a fee of up to $32.90 for this service.
For pools and spas constructed prior to 1st of June 2020, an information search fee of up to $48.80 may be charged.
Pools and spas constructed after the 1st of June 2020 must be registered within 30 days after issue of the occupancy permit or certificate of final inspection.
As of the 1st December 2019, it is mandatory for owners of land where a swimming pool or spa is located to register their pool or spa with their relevant council.
